Approbations 13

Hands such hands
hold and divide (say, portions of sustained
tongue-treasures
held
against heart of sons’ mastery of want
needing such needing
dashing connecting tissue into
newborn realm, together, vibrant)
provide and scold
and mother
rhymes wish with
metaphor for need
becoming cotton warmth
once dedicated wrap
hands such hands now
provoke
calming finish of life’s layered
devotion.

Slivers sketched, sanctified
hold on the skin of her skeletal hand
a once-before (historic hurricane) white-hoary shadow
enriching love’s panic, content, documented
purpose.
The white stain of porcelain’s rigid hug
once held silver’s contoured, cornering words: I do,
ditto.

Awakened
prior to the watchful style of sun’s
organic mount
young child
sealed into encircling fear, riot of farewells
voted terror-sporadic notion
psychology of sound marinates within
candle’s vertical burn. He
envisions an external body, his, one of
coastal elongation, constructing castles
from the blond strands of sand’s fallen fur.
Devotion
to the sleeping purity bringing body into light
unorthodox speed of sifted designation.
Awake inside mentoring sleep, he
sees waves becoming mother
entering into purple shadow
drawing dawn against wall’s
aggregated muscles, strongly
holding worded echoes
stir stir stir.
