Poetry by Ralph-Michael Chiaia (T.S. Eliot)

Allegra-D
by Ralph-Michael Chiaia
Inspired by T.S. Eliot

September is the cruelest month, mixing
the dust with the cooler air, blowing
nose and taking anti-histamines, searching
one good night's sleep

I wake like an anesthetized patient
again
like an ice scream sundae slathered in
chocolate apathy

Achoo!
