Theory by Michael Fisher

of course poetry is dead
decomposed in time lapse
Low a quarter through
his second thought
witnesses it with a black & tan
poetry reduced to concentrated corpse
floats in a defrosted draft
(Low’s viewer for television)
Ants become prime time stars
they ain’t proud
they drown in stout
poetry isn’t blood, as you think
only scabs—evaporated essence
broken to quirks
suspended in lager
life’s last gold
