Three poems by Felino Soriano

Upsidedown Fathom

Transcendence
home of a homeward alibi,
return unharmed. Trophy bronzed from
tongued accumulation, praised
excess enveloping nuanced patina.
What finds itself found in rooms
of deliberate emptiness

—after excessive journeying

Relocated body
bandaged wing apparent
scathed by popular crossing
circular bridges, awaiting crossing
again’s version of a place’s unaltered
disposition. Comprehension
from home’s enticing embraces
cannot properly uphold hankering’s
oracular obesity, craving most openly
beyond the curfew of unwilling
mutation of a mind’s diligent misunderstanding.

Before ←hand

Good BYE. the! sweat
of your voice
dangles whispered razors
humidly carving sobriquets
of before’s oddly misshaped hour
surrendering
hideous closure

to the afterward now presented to us. Hassle-hoping
cuffed hands into worldly mastication
relevant to the reflection of your mirror’s
baffled mathematics.

Before we blend
into distance’s honesty alterations, recall the method
of which we dissolved peace
and alabaster emotions
thriving whole in the backward glances we hope
to nevermore reacquire.

Master Evocation
—after modal realization

war/radiance refabricating
modes of tomorrow’s mired morning, saddened
venue: the body )or recollection of ( hold’s arena, area, architecture of thought
renaming after ensembles of sleep, tragedy Heard

in a flower’s scented narrative
diaphanous diagrams’
paradigm of misleading
venture
memory holds between
trust with hammered
ingredients lived method
finding flails of
enshrouded
gravity of syllables’
suicidal reenactment
