Let's Talk About me by Jon Wesick
You may have climbed K-2 barefoot
or disarmed landmines in Cambodia
but my musings about TV
are bound to be more fascinating
so please stop interrupting
and keep your comments brief.
Whether attending King Lear
or viewing a Monet exhibition,
let’s focus on my reactions –
complaints about ticket prices,
my annoyance with the staff,
the hard choices on the lunch menu.
Open your ears to the rich semen of my words.
Dig like a beach volleyball player
squatting to get under the ball
so not one precious drop
spills on the sand.
