In the Sadness in Her Mind by Luis Cuauhtemoc Berriozabal

In the sadness of her mind
there was nothing to see.
There were no stars, no sun,
not even the worm that
usually crawled around in
that darkness could be seen.

The voices in her head
told jokes that were not
funny. Still, she laughed
to herself to appease
the voices. She cried at night
when no one could hear her.
