POETRY BY TOM FERGUSON

From M-28

looking NW

across 20 miles of Superior

the lights of the little city

other night times

I there in that view

sleeping

cursing the television

or

1100 miles south

or

long before

a different shoreline

glacier

or

some unguessed

long after

this night again

elusive partner

here & gone

dissolve & fade

sudden focus

dark’n light

sleep

rise
